Withstanding The Sunlight

Withstanding The Sunlight

A Poem by Vertigo

Withstanding the sunlight
Indifferent to its brightness
I stand in a field of gold
Harnessed by an untimely fate
When dreams meet with reality
Like the sea meeting the shore
During a storm
My eyes wonder
At the pink sky
As I am
And as I was
Before an end or a beginning
I am not God
And I am not Fate
But I am everything that makes
The world move
And the sun rise to an awakening day
