Break of day

Break of day

A Poem by Vertigo

I am crowded with shallow aches
Like cracked ice and every shining break
Finding it a mistake
But I learned too late
I walked the thin line
I am running out of time with the constant ticking
The loss of suns
The cradling clock
The constant thrumming
The timid knock
The sound of falling in quiet steps
And I am crowded with shallow aches
To find my breath and feel it shake
Oh hidden heart, crying to the nameless and fleeting
Break of day...

There's so much beauty in this poem, so many touches of truly stronge visuals but, those rhyming last words of the first four lines jar a little ..

Your work is very gentle, beckons the reader to read on ..

'I am running out of time with the constant ticking
The loss of suns
The cradling clock'
