That's Life.A Poem by Leah EverettLife has it's downs, I'm afraid to say, But don't let it's faults, Stand in your way. Don't cry yourself to sleep, Every night, Wasting away, In unneeded fright. Go ahead, phone a friend Pour out your heart. But you must bare in mind They could rip you apart. Not today, not tomorrow But it's possible to say That they could turn right around And walk right away. I've seen it happen, Way more than once. It's not nice to go through And darling, it's tough. And there will be times, When you're feeling alone But to appreciate company, You must appreciate your own. It's harder to smile Than it is to cry. But in a world like our world, It's essential to try. Because this Earth is spinning On wars, tears and grief But one less person crying Is one more step to peace. So never wish your life away For every day is bliss. Take all the laughter thrown your way And throw it all back with a kiss. Don't watch your past regretting, Straighten up and stand your ground Because bullies are just bullies They will never stick around. And lovers who don't love Just want a diamond on their arm. So take your hand away from theirs And pretend they've done no harm. And I'm not trying to say That life is just disaster. It's just not all cuts are small enough To heal under a plaster. There is a special someone Intended just for you. And every ray of sunshine Was intended for you too. So be a hero, be a champion Be a streaker and run wild, Because this reckless world can't live without Your God damn gorgeous smile. ;D © 2011 Leah EverettReviews
