Loving Miracle.A Poem by Leah EverettCrisp memories still breezy in my mind. Of how your bronze eyes shimmered when our gaze linked.
I lay icy under the bedcovers when the stars awaken, As a streak of the moons lighting appears on the pillow next to me.
I feel lonely, knowing you should be there, Sharing your warmth of your unsullied smile.
You’re the type of person to love pleasant, gentle kisses, And enjoy me wrapping my legs around yours in bed.
Lift my hands to hold your cheeks, And shut your eyes, sweetly, as I kiss the tip of your nose.
You know how easily upset I am, You understand all the ache I’ve been toiling through.
I can tell you’re screaming out it’s going to be alright, You want to shield me from all evil.
I want to be your barrier, I want to provide the same security for you.
You fill your suit so sexily, Teach me how to make endless, undying love.
Grab my wrists and rest them on your chest, and drive me around in a slow waltz.
Close your office door, and transform it into our own island, Let’s flee from these rules of discipline.
The beat of your heart sends me sleepy, As the rhythm of the rain drums beautifully against the window.
Press me closer into your sugary embrace, And vow never to loosen your grasp.
Do you like it when I sensitively stroke the back of your neck, And whisper a homemade poem into your ear, such as this?
You have such an endearing laugh, And the way you shape your lips when you do, shoots me into fantasy.
You’ll always keep me contented, Let’s promise to keep us a secret, never shall we let another soul know.
We’ll always be together. I’m still praying, wishing, hoping.
It would be a miracle wouldn’t it? But, miracles are only for the lucky. © 2011 Leah Everett |
