Waves

Waves

A Poem by LeAnn

The darkest days
Seem to crash like waves.
Pulling you in,
Can you swim?
Do you accept your fate,
To let yourself suffocate?
The waters so inviting,
The warmth so enticing.
Alas, alone you will be.
Not a soul you will see.
Loneliness sets in,
Is this your mortal sin?
The waves bring you deeper,
They become your keeper.
A prisoner now,
To the sea you must bow.
You hang your head in shame,
For the emotions you can not tame.
Should you sink lower?
The death slower?
Should you swim higher?
To your deepest desires?
What awaits at the surface?
A world where you don't feel worthless?
