Why?

Why?

A Poem by LeAnn

Why?
Why do you feel the need to point out my flaws.
Yes.
I know I am not perfect.
I don't need you to remind me.
I know I screw up sometimes.
I know I don't always say the right things.
So why?
Why do you feel the need to look at me as a burden.
As a waste of time, as well as space.
I don't need that from you.
I need you to love me for who I am.
Who I am trying to be.
Why can't you be the mother that accepts me and my flaws?
Why?

The deepest cuts, the deepest bruises come from trying desperately to please parents who never will be pleased.
