Perfection

A Poem by LisaCarol
"

A cinquain poem

Seek out

Perfection’s ghost.

Perceptions will reveal,

Phantom an illusion of a

Fool’s mind.

Nicely captured Cinquain Lisa. I've really liked this format after reading the story of how they came about. Some American lady whi I think was called Mary Crapsley and a Scottish fella I can't remember the name of seemed to have come up with the same structure at pretty much the same time.
And which one do you think gave the honour of theirs being called the American cinquain?
Yes that's right...the Scotsman!
I do remember that one of the first of Mary's was about walking in snow and the dramatic enfold line was "twig snaps" which meant her fears were correct and she was being followed.
Yet yours does that and more, with a great build up to the dramatic end.
Very well captured.

very sage advice to perfectionist - there are far too many on this site and i hope your teachings will reach their ears. perfection's ghost is ever so elusive, one needs not to chase it but celebrate the imprefections of their craft and in one's life. i too will try not to let this phantom prevent me from doing what i love. thanks for sharing.

LisaCarol,
Is perfection ever anything but a ghost? As real as Plato's perfect circle or perfectly straight line... what an imagination we as humans carry around to come up with such stuff... "Then I saw her face, now I'm a believer."

Thank you for your review and now I’ve got that song in my mind. Love those Monkees.
