The TempestA Poem by Lazarus DaGreatThis vision of excellence is just a disturbed state of an environment of astronomical proportions Adding elegiac distortions of static to my blurred lines of vision a lightning bolt extension of electric relaxation permanent vacation or bust living in Nirvana wonderland or wanderlust I must confess I devote time to the visionz of Venus fleeting lust the melancholy mood of grey skies of pandemonium brightens my day let’s say I’m not normal in any way not your average mundane Meant to be this way a guiding light to heaven in a se7en day theory of everything they don’t understand my words but must choose another muse a ghetto geography of speculation second guessing greatness of exigent circumstances and isolated incidences of true crime the blind leading the blind slow dancing with a dime a devil in a red dress a jezebel of perfection now the girl is gone my time is short so I can’t stay long maybe by the end of this verse or another sad love song the sky is crying God’s tears washing 6 billion sins away is why we prey takes the pain away with every strike of lightning and boom of thunder I just hope this one doesn’t take me under
This coming of age has taken place from the streets to the stage a mere phase that fills up the page with love and rage like a bird locked in a cage that can’t sing or hear applause the meaning was hidden like camouflage the beauty of the feminine persuasion has captured the hearts of many from puberty until menopause the uniqueness of ambiguity is a pity on the fragile Giving away virginity to any Tom, Dick, or Larry is scary within the eyes of her beholder I told her “I don’t wanna change you, I just wanna get to know her” couldn’t pick the lock to her closet with my skeleton key so we only talked superficially the infatuation of her innocent beauty captured me memorized my validity the sequility of a grown woman’s sexuality fascinated me at first glance I had to try my hand and asked can I have this dance, “But it’s raining…”so”, but ‘Where will we go?’ I’ll pull over and turn up the radio…”a car could hit me, unexpectedly “ “I’ll protect you from anything my queen’ so she let go… of her burdens and inhibitions let the music take over her soul and swayed side to side to Sade’ struck a pose upon tippy toes a gust of wind took her breath away and I stood amazed trying to hold a straight face wishing this memory will never fade away…the immortality of divinity was priceless we were the only two people on earth at the time so I will rewind this moment in time in my mind-this streetcar named desire was full of passion at this very moment in time… © 2015 Lazarus DaGreat |
