In another lifeA Poem by Lazarus DaGreatSince most Kings get their heads cut off its only natural that this is how I start this one off My souls been lost for centuries bringing instant epiphanies on how to focus my energy Patiently waiting and debating my only fear of death is coming back reincarnated my blasphemies have haunted me for centuries redeeming the curse of these conceptual definitions of the definitive the equivalent to mere mortal men never to be blessed with being born again This excellent mission was forbidden by the gods themselves in every religion this contradiction Simply wouldn’t suffice a metamorphosis of Lazarus The Great make no mistake he takes his fate as it may come with the rising of the moon and the setting of the sun a living façade of a poetic demi-god a divine intervention guiding his pen to rewrite his-story with every hymn his name will be mentioned this life is just the beginning of something greater than most men can image walking the ends of the earth for something they can’t fathom in search of the holy grail and everlasting life many have tried but most have died they even made up folklores of vampires and werewolves preposterous shenanigans of the mere incompetent
The simplest of topics in every poets catalog is Love so I just wanna take you with me in the afterlife because this life is too short for all the things we consort the demons we fought and literal situationals of isolated incidences can change on a dime if we rewind time in my mind you would be my girl in another life living just for the day I have to write, I gotta write, because these lines are my life and I don’t want to break your heart from the start although it’s inevitable because I just can’t get right I might make you my wife if you act right, since were’ only human we make mistakes I just wanna sail away on a yacht around the world in 80 days can you imagine all we can do just me and you If your heart is true then it can lead us wherever we want it to your eyes pierce my soul with every glance stealing my untouched soul by circumstance your smile floors me whenever you flash it in lemans terms it’s simply fantastic when we make love it’s magic Laying on top of you heartbeats conjoin like Siamese twins I just wanna please you and did I mention this is just the beginning of something magnificent
In another life I may have been a King or tyrant, artist or aristocrat, peasant or slave but still great in every way Lazarus was raised from the grave by divine intervention so I can reinvent myself with every hymn, scribe, or poem you’re at the authors disposal and this is my world with a story to tell this is like the movie The Cell another chamber of the magnificent 36 with a twist I wrote this piece in exactly forty years 334 days 12 hours and 6 minutes all equaling out to today In another life I may have been a predator on land or shark in the sea when I tell you these things please believe me see I paint pictures on canvas with words something I love to do anything else would be absurd living in a Detroit trailor park across 8 mile like the 33 and 1/3rd maybe playing an instrument on the curb so please hold the enthusiasm you never can tell i could have been the right hand man in Baltimore to Stringer Bell I could have been a kingpin of the ghetto or simply in love like an overzealous Othello number 5 center row like the soloist playing the cello you never know all these things could have happen and just might, if not now then in... another life…
