Trapped

Trapped

A Poem by Laylah

Steel bars, solid horizontal lines stare back at me.

Pupils fixated on the space between them,

Perhaps just for a fleeting moment a glimmer of hope.

Escape is a possibility that swiftly fades with the blink of an eye.

Trapped, unable to see any possibilities that lie beyond - my fate is ended.

Freedom belongs to those who choose it.

I remain in my mind forever captive, alone " prisoner to all my thoughts.
