Is ignorance really bliss? Is bliss human?

Is ignorance really bliss? Is bliss human?

An opinion on the inquisitive nature of humanity, and the question above.

I think the quest for information, the faith in the existence of and pursuit of wisdom are pure human drive. To deny the processing of information, to refuse psychological association is illogical to survival.

Forget religious notions of piety or transcendence beyond this world, our survival is dependent on adaption which occurs despite ignorance, but can be more harmonious OR harmful to our legacy and planet when organized or "controlled". Ah, humans! Always convinced we have the best intentions, too concerned with being right to accept consequences or leave things be.

At least knowing that one can't know or change EVERYTHING should bring if not happiness, some peace. I do however believe that those people most valuable to human purpose are those that thrive on information AND communication, for one without the other is a mess, and most people can't balance these purposes without suffering.
Balance is the bottom line here. A life built on and purposefully continued in ignorance is most likely a short one with simpler causes of suffering, while those that seek wisdom will find many years of complex questions to torture or coddle themselves with. I still prefer the latter since progress is made.

A question never asked is one rarely answered. A question asked is often answered with another question, but if even one of these questions is answered...there may be purpose, there may be progress, there may be the greatest answer ever found.
No species known has the mental capacity and drive to ask questions of everything. No one creature feels entitled to or gratified by answers like a homosapien erectus. I think not asking these questions indicates a readiness to return to a simpler animal life, but the human superiority complex will tell us that the more asked, the better, the more human. I'm ok with that, but not everyone has to be.
