Snow/WhiteA Story by Laya Bly Nessa
Snow White: I sat on my bed, going over my options. I had to do something to get the prince to notice me. Not even beauty or charm can win over a noble prince anymore. No, I to spur an act of bravery I must be a damsel in distress. Yes, all over the land, people will hear the story of Snow White, the lovely maiden saved by the prince. But how?
The Evil Queen: I shall poison her! I'll put her in a deep sleep. Her limp body will be no match for my grand, beautiful attire! Oh, how I revel in the thought of Snow White's downfall! I'll need a disguise... I'll dress like a simple old woman selling apples, and feed one to Snow White! With her gone, all will be right once more! Snow White: What is this woman on about? Selling apples? Oh I suppose one can't hurt... The Evil Queen: It worked, it worked! I didn't expect any complications, considering how dim witted she is, but still. This must be what heaven feels like. Oh, ever since she escaped from my prison I dreamed of this day! Now nobody will want to look at her! Snow White: Why, that evil witch placed me in a coma! I can't see a thing! I can hear though. Can I speak? No. Oh, how dreadful is this. I'll never have my prince now... wait, what's that I feel upon my lips? Oh my, I can see! My price has arrived! This is wonderful! He'll marry me for sure and I'll for sure and I'll finally be safe from The Evil Queen! The Evil Queen: Oh, that wretched girl, she just has the world handed to her, doesn't she? She's probably in the castle right now, preparing for her wedding! I'll have to get inside some how... this time I'll kill her and her beloved prince. In the Town Square: The Prince's Serving Man, Felix: Hello, your name is Cilla, right? Cilla: Yes, that's me. I heard you wanted to speak to me about Snow White? Felix: Yes. You see, I was in the dining hall when I heard a strange voice in the castle. I followed it to one of the dining rooms and found Snow White pacing back and forth in it. Only, she sounded exactly like The Evil Queen. She had this weird look on her face and she kept talking about "Killing Snow White," which was odd because she is Snow White... do you know anything about this? Considering you guys were in cells right next to each other in The Queen's prison? Cilla: Oh my, I was hoping this had worn off. Well, The Evil Queen was extremely abusive towards me and Snow. She hit us every day. So one day snow got tired of it and chocked her to death by twisting the Evil Queen's own necklace around her neck. Snow grabbed the keys and came to let me out, but when she opened the door her eyes rolled to the back of her head and her face twisted into an evil grin. She started hitting me and I said "Snow, what are you doing?" She got very angry and started yelling in a voice that sounds exactly like the Queen's. When she was done she went back to her cell, locked it, and started acting like Snow White again. I asked her what happened but she could't recall anything she had done when she was acting like the Queen. This went on for a while. It was as if she had partially adapted the Queen's personality. She inanely believed she was the Queen. I would here her talking to herself as the Queen, cursing Snow White... one day she was finally lucid enough to let me out of the cell and escape the castle as Snow White. I haven't talked to er since. Felix: The prince is in danger! We have to warn him! She could turn into the Queen and kill him any minute! Cilla: It's too late. The wedding is over and they're probably consummating upstairs by now. At the Castle: The Evil Queen (and technically Snow White): I somehow snuck past the guards. Now it's time to kill these lovebirds. I'll finish off the prince, then go for Snow White. I want to make her death as painful as possible. Her goes... and there goes the prince. D****t, I can't get the knife out of him. I'll figure out another way to kill Snow. Snow White: What... why am I covered in blood? What happened to me? Oh my, it looks as if the Prince has slain himself! This is terrible! I must alert the guards. But first I should wash off this blood. It almost looks like I killed him. The Evil Queen: Snow White has drawn herself a bath. It's almost too easy. I hear drowning is a terrible way to go. All I have to do is wait. Snow White. It sure is nice to get all this blood off of me. No I'll just... Shoot, who's pushing me under the water! I can't breath at all! This is terrible! Whose hand is that! It looks awfully familiar... It must be The Evil Queen! But no, that hand is wearing my wedding ring. So it must be my hand. That does't make any- Epilogue: Physicians took Cilla and Felix's stories into account and determined the cause of Snow's condition: guilt. She felt so bad about taking the Queen's life that she acted as the Queen to create the illusion, at least in her own mind, that the Queen was never dead. She gave herself the poison apple, beat herself in her cell, and drown herself in the bathtub.
