A Need

A Need

A Poem by LawrenceRaybon
"

Some people confuse wants and needs. This poem is most definitely about a need.

"
Oh I have a need,
burning inside.
A call I must heed;
a shame I can't hide.

And starting to dance
with urgent gyration,
I grab at my pants
with increasing frustration.

You point to a door,
seeing my need,
but the pool on the floor
means I already peed.

Thank you!
When I got to the last stanza I literally laughed out loud. Your poetry from what I have read thus far is beautiful and sweet. I'm especially loving the theme of your daughter. It's very sweet to see a father so doting and affectionate.

This poem is very tongue in cheek and you hit the mark between fun and art.
