Author's Note

A Hen-ru is a short comedic poem, similar to Senryu in that it has five syllables on the first line, seven on the second and five again on the third. Theses poems are often sarcastic or self deprecating.

HA!! Very funny, and this was a surprising one. "Hen-ru," huh? It's the first time I've heard that one, but I'd love to try writing one now! It reminds me of this book I'd read called "Haikus for Jews." All of the poems were kind of sarcastic and mocking, and also very stereotypically Jewish.

Thanks for giving me a grin this morning.
