AfterLife

AfterLife

A Poem by Lawrence Parlier
"

Written for a poetry challenge. A view of the afterlife from the inside.

"
The dizzying spin of Earthbound madness fades away in a final breath of bliss
A final kiss
Kaleidoscope memories slipping through to oblivion as awareness changes hope
Awake now
Happy in the silent calm of void
Lucid as the dust of ignorance slips
Ashes choking long in the mouth
as fears disappear
Kinetic ecstasy unfolding into the growing glow of the great beyond
Intrinsic to the flow of forever here and cool

Now is the logic of stars
Now is the timeless daydream of infinite possibilities
Now is forever at a glance and anywhere on a whisper

Now is waiting for you to come along................

"Now is the logic of stars" is a pretty evocative line. It carries the emotion of the poem in an understandable way. We cannot truly feel any of the given ecstasies, but I believe that I have a slight notion on what the logic of the stars might be, especially coddled in the surrounding lines.
The bit about the ashes still being in the mouth after awakening is a bit hazy for me, but I got through it with what was to be understood from the transformation.
