A Halloween Dream

A Halloween Dream

A Poem by Lawrence Parlier
"

Just an old spooky pome done for kicks

"

Strange lights shine inside cold halls

Strange eyes wait behind strange walls

Whispers pierce the night and fade

As shadows creep in blind parade

Inside the darkness lost to sleep

A heartbeat rings out through the deep

Born to horror and bred to feed

It stalks the night to quench the need

With blood lust forged behind dead eyes

The hunt begins with frigid cries

The hunger of its soul laid bare

When the smell of flesh soaks through the air

And woe to those who come to know

The crushing urge that burns below

As an innocent becomes the feast

To sate the core of a hollow beast

Lovely read, but a lot of people have this commercial idea about Hallow's Eve. It's not all ghost and goblins. Anyway, starting to ramble. Once again, excellent!

This is something you have to read very quickly. It just makes more sense and the rushed pattern inside your words really leaps out. My eyes widened more and more as I read this and my heart even pounded a little faster. Well done.
