Near's Poem

Near's Poem

A Poem by NicoRide
"

This is a poem about Near from Death Note after the Kira Case has been solved.

"
The heroes go without parade, for the only want reward
Being dead by a pen that is deathlier than the sword
A letter, a cake, a chocolate bar,
Cigarettes strewn before the jam jar....
Nothing more stands in rememberance of them,
These heroes....these children, forced to be men
Death was their solace, their ultimate goal,
But was justice worth the cost of their souls?
The boy in white pajamas sits alone at his shrine,
He can't predict where his loyalties align
He looks at the trinkets left from his friends
Who gave up their lives, in untimely ends
He is their legacy, alone bearing the pain
For them, he has given up his right to a name
For them he fought and put up a good fight
Revenge for them was his ultimate right
But now it is over...he is left with but graves
He misses the blonde and the redheaded knave
He misses the puzzles and solving the clues
For without a new race, he has nothing to do
But sit and build towers of cards out of spite
For his knowledge, his brain, his cursed insight
He should have joined them, the ones who have died...
But he won't shed a tear, he couldn't if he tried
Alone, bored, and apathy-filled...
He watches over the graves,
Of those who were killed....

Ignore spelling, grammar, and all that other good stuff. I'm a crappy writer anyways...
