Memories

Memories

A Poem by Lawerence Rowe
"

A short poem about memories.

"
Names of people, gone long past
but still hanging around,
memories like sand, shifting so fast
not making a sound.
A face floats on by, someone you know
but then you see
a ghost in the shell, an unknown soul in tow
and your fleeting memories flee.
Life seems adrift, a see of wants
like a ship upon the storm,
the sands of time, a painful taunt
that your life has lost form.
your head on the pillow, a refuge from change
and your mind drifts away,
to a place for your memories, safe to range
in a life where your mind will always stay.

Let the dead bury the dead. Try to live in the now.
