This is a list of the Rune worlds with approximate representations of their physical appearances.

Feoh - Feoh is a medieval agrairan community with a squalid village if about two dozen huts outside the walls of a castle. Everything has a dismal, soiled look. The people walk with their heads bowed. 
    The spirit of Feoh is the overseer, a great bulk of a man with a bellowing voice and a whip. He is filthy, his black hair matted, his eyes blinking with stupidity.


Ur - Ur is a primal forest filled with wild beasts that constantly battle. its people are stealthy, silent hunters with sly eyes. They paint their naked bodies to blend into the undergrowth. 
    The spirit of Ur is a hunter who carries a spear and wears a mask made of the head of a bear. He is seldom speaks, but gestures.

Thorn - Thorn is a great cavern with a sulphurous lake from wich fire belches. It is inhabited by scaley, crawling things that lurk in the darkness. 
    The spirit of Thorn is a dragon-like monster. Its head is serpent-like, black and wreathed in smoke and shadow.


Os - Os is a landscape of rolling wooded hills with white-capped mountains rising in the distance. In its midst is a hall formed from the bodies of living trees with many fantastic carvings on its sides. 
    The spirit of Os is an old hief with grey hair dressed in armor who sits at the head of the table in the hall and rules and land wisely.


Rad - Rad is a long road that winds between barren cliffs and impenetrable forests. Along it move silent, weary riders and people with bundles on their backs. 
    The spirit of Rad is a strolling minstrel and storyteller who dresses in bright colors and entertains his fellow travelers.


Ken - Ken is a land of crystal and glass. The glass trees bear jewels as fruit and the sky is lit with rainbow colors that pulsate and make the landscape dance. 
    The spirit of Ken is a woman surrounded by light who floats like a flame over the mirror surface of the earth. Her voice makes the crystal trees ring with mellow tones.


Gyfu - Gyfu is a land of blood and destruction inhabited by people who have committed various acts of self-mutilation similar to those practiced by Indian fakirs.
    The spirit of Gyfu is a blind man bound to the trunk of a great tree.


Wyn - Wyn is a shining montain that rises into a golden cloud. Near the top is a city of white stone. Its people are gentle and contemplative. 
    The spirit of Wyn is a woman of slender build and blond hair. She wears white and speaks with a musical voice.


Haegl - Haegl is a blowing storm of hail and snow in a dark evergreen forest. 
    The spirit of Haegl is not seen, but an be heard moaning and roaring on the wind.


Nyd - Nyd is a narrow wooden bridge across a chasm of foaming rapids. The center of the bridge is burning. 
    The spirit of Nyd is a horrifying but uncertain shape that threatens from behind.


Is - Is is a frozen lake in winter. From the lake rises a small island overgrown with naked willows. 
    The spirit of Is lives on the island. Her appearance changes and allures. Sometimes she is beautiful; other times her face twists with hatred. She keeps a white owl.


Ger - Ger is a flour mill beside a stream. It is domintated by a giant water wheel that turns and groans continuously.
    The spirit of Ger is a robust man with a red face and a balding head. He wears a flour-covered leather apron and carries a cup of water and a wooden mallet.


Eoh - Eoh is a field of battle on the eve of conflict. Banners fly. Campfires burn. Men and horses wait for dawn and look silently across the darkended field at the fires of the foe.
    The spirit of Eoh is a stocky foot soldier with a bown slung on his back, unkempt hair and dark eyes. His speech is curde but honest.


Peord - Peord is a glade of apple trees where an abundance of fruit and other harvest goods have been gathered. Long tables set with plenty entertain the harvesters. 
    The spirit of Peord is a noble woman who oversees the feast and goes from table to table pouring wine from a pitcher she carries on her shoulder.


Eloh - Eloh is a great gate set across a road betwee two rock cliffs. No passage is possible except through the gate. Many people wait on the outside to gain admittance. 
    The spirit of Eloh is the unseen gatekeeper who lives over the gate. His voice is deep and threatening. He rains down fire and sword blades on those who try to approach.


Sigel - Sigel is a land so blazing with light that no details of it can be distinguished. The air roars with the sound of flames.
    The spirit of Sigel is never met directly. He communicates through proud emissaries who speak and receive replies.


Tyr - Tyr is the midst of a battle on a misty field. Usually only the clash of swords and the cries of the dying can be heard. Sometimes a pair of combatants come into view for a brief moment through the mists.
    The spirit of Tyr is a silent figure with a drawn sword who stalks the field ghostlike and chooses those who are to die. He communicates whit gestures. His face veiled.


Beorc - Beorc is a glad of birch trees seen in the slanting sunlight of early morning. Birds sing. A clear spring bubbles. 
    The spirit of Beorc is a girl who plays among the trees. She keeps a full grown stag as a pet .


Eh - Eh is a grassy plain sretching endlessly to the horizon. On it move herd animals, particularly wild horses.
    The spirit of Eh is a young boy dressed  in rabbit skins with wild eyes and long blond hair who rides a white stallion by clinging to its neck and lacing his fingers in its mane.


Man - Man is the inside of a house wiht uncounted corridors and rooms. Each room presents a different dramatic tableau. 
    The spirit of Man is the holder of the keys. He is unseen but leaves an occasional door open.


Lagu - Lagu is the depths of the sea-green ocean. Its inhabitants dwell in the rocks and strange growths on the ocean floor. They are of monstrous appearance. 
    The spirit of Lagu is a mermaid with bluish skin. She sings songs that evoke illusions.


Ing - Ing is a small but prosperous farm with a stone and thatch house and a wattle barn. Its inhabitants are the members of a family - grandfather, father, mother, a son who is nearly grown, a younger daugher, and and infant. They extend hospitable welcome to strangers. 
    The spirit of Ing is the grandfather, and elderly but hardy man with snow-white hair, who knows much lore of nature


Daeg - Daeg is a stone pillar that marks the passage of the sun. From it extend twelve spokes made of ridges of earth to the horizon. The sun never sets, but rides in an unending circle around the sky. 
    The spirit of Daeg is a bird with shining multicolored wings who perches atop the pillar of the sun wheel.


Ethel - Ethel is a geometric land where separate farms are arragdd in a checkerboard pattern. Each small holding has a high fence around it.
     The spirit of Ethel is the surveyor who determines the lay of the boundry lines. He walks the land continuously measuring the ground with a long rod as he goes.
