Unexpected: 6A Story by Laurynn Fuentes c:I smiled as the worker mixed the hair dye in a black, plastic bowl and set it on the counter. She took a brush, dipping it in and swirling it around, painting it in my hair and smiling as she turned me around so I couldn't see the mirror. I bit my lips nervously, scared of how my hair would turn out and if I wouldn't like it or not. About an hour or two later, my hair was done and I didn't think it was actually me with the hair. It looked so beautiful to me. The whiteness of my hair brought out my skin tone, making me look even tanner. I smiled, jumping up and down and giggling. "I love it!" I exclaimed, running out of the room and into the waiting room, hiding behind a wall and looking at the group. I jumped up and down in anticipation, watching the worker walk towards the cashier and look at the group. "She's done," she said. I smiled, jerking back behind the wall and smiling playfully. "Where is she?" I heard Ashley ask. "Hiding," she said. I laughed loudly, coming out from behind the wall and looking at everyone. Their jaws hit the floor and their eyes popped out of their sockets in amazement. "Laurynn?" Ashley asked in astonishment. I smiled. "Yeah," I said. "I know right?" They all laughed, coming towards me and touching my hair, widening their eyes as the realized it was real. "Okay," Ashley said. "Enough with the amazement of Laurynn's hair, let's go to the piercings place since she wanted to go there. Why did you want to go there anyways, Laurynn?" he asked. I smirked, shaking my head. "You'll just have to wait and see," I said, walking out of the salon and into Ashley's car. He jumped into the driver's seat while Andy and Autumn got in the back. "Laurynn," Autumn said, smiling. I looked back at her, holding my hair back so I could see her better. "Your hair is so awesome right now. I knew that when we grew up, this would happen." I laughed. "Of course you did, you're a physic," I said, jokingly. Ashley laughed, shaking his head and driving off to the piercing parlor. I smiled, unbuckling myself quickly and jumping out of the car, running towards the entrance and laughing at Jake who was eyeballing the pizzeria next to the parlor. I walked in, smiling at the person who was holding a needle. "Hello, what would you like today ma'am?" the tall man at the cashier asked. "I would like to get my lip pierced, please," I said. He smiled, typing a bunch of numbers on the cashier's number pad. The total price came up as twenty two dollars and Andy handed the man the money. I looked at him, softening my eyes and shaking my head. "I'll pay you ba-" "Don't even bother," he said, smiling. I looked at the ground, nodding. "Okay," I said, walking back to the seat the man had put me in and grabbing the needle. I closed my eyes, not wanting to see it. "Will this hurt?" I asked as he put the needle on my lip. "Well," he said. "Did it hurt?" I opened my eyes, furrowing my eyebrows in confusion. "What do you mean?" I asked. "It's pierced," he said with a satisfied smile. My eyes widened as he gave me a mirror so I could look at it. I loved it; it looked like I wanted it to look like. I smiled, looking at Andy and Ashley and blushing. "It looks…" Ashley said, widening his eyes. "Awesome!" I giggled, following them out to Ashley's car. Instead of Andy and Autumn in the back, it was Jake and Jinxx in the back, Jake talking about how much he wanted to go to that pizzeria and Jinxx telling him how much of an idiot he was. I sat in the front awkwardly, waiting for someone to talk to me or ask me a question. Ashley kept glancing over at me, smiling as I looked at him every once in a while. Jake smiled as well, leaning up in the middle of us. "You know," he said with Jinxx smiling right next to him. "You two are perfect for each other. " I widened my eyes, looking at Jake and pleading him to shut up and sit down. If living here with Andy, I'd wait until a month to tell Ashley how I felt. But, Jake had already done me the favors and told him. "Jake," I said. "You really had to say that?" Ashley looked at me, smiling and shaking his head. "You know," he said. My eyes widened as I kept my vision on Jake. "He is right." My heart started beating faster as he poked me. "Laurynn," he said. "I'm talking to you." I giggled at the sound of his voice, turning around in my seat and watching the scenery pass us by. "I hear you," I said, looking at him. "Okay, well…when we get to the club, I'd like to talk to you," he said. My eyes widened and I looked outside, scared of what he'd want to tell me. It was dusk once we reached the club. It was packed and everyone was drinking and dancing inside. Even outside of the club you could hear the music banging on the walls. It was too much for me in there at one point and I'd walk outside to grab myself some fresh air. I knew it was too dangerous for me to be out here, since Ashley wanted to talk to me. I smirked as he opened the two front doors, walking towards me and staring at me. "Hello," he said. I smiled, looking at him and nodding. "Hi," I said awkwardly. "What's up?" He shook his head. "I need to tell you how I feel," he said. My eyes widened as he stepped closer to me. "Laurynn," he said. "You're almost seventeen, and I'm almost twenty seven." I nodded, looking at him and into his eyes. "Yeah, I know," I said. "But time is just but a number. It won't stop us," he said. I smiled as he threw a strand of my hair back and out of my face. "You are so beautiful." "Thanks," I said, blushing. "Look, we can talk more when we get home, but right now…we need to go party." He smirked. "Okay," he said, walking into the club right behind me. We arrived home in once piece, with me driving Ashley's car. Ashley, Andy, Autumn, Olivia, and Jake drank too much, so Jinxx drove the other car, holding Jake in the car with him. Ashley, Andy, Autumn and Olivia rode with me. I sighed, shaking my head and speeding up towards the house. Andy slurred his words, telling me how to get to the house. I got out of the car; locking it behind me with the remote and watching everyone else get out. I yawned, walking up to the house and opening the front door. "Laurynn, come here!" Olivia exclaimed. I cringed under the scream of her voice. "What?" I snapped, letting everyone in the house and walking behind Olivia. "Go…unpack," she said, slurring her words as well. It'd been only one day, and I hadn't unpacked, because with every house I went to, I was out in a week. I told Andy and Ashley that I'd wait until Monday to unpack, and they agreed and went on with their lives, understanding where I was coming from. I rolled my eyes, throwing the keys on the end table of the gathering room and running up to my room, looking through my suit case and getting on a pair of pajamas. "Alright," I said, walking back downstairs and into the kitchen, sitting in a chair next to Jake. "Since you guys are wasted, and it's only ten o'clock, I'm going to drink." They all cheered, smiling and holding their red Dixie cups up. I walked into the kitchen, opening the fridge and grabbing the vodka. "Let's have some fun!" Ashley exclaimed. I smiled.
