Chasing the Thought Away: 12A Story by Laurynn Fuentes c:*My part :D*
Jake
After our jog together, Emma and I ran upstairs, passing out on Emma's bed. We were inches from each other, our shoulders touching and the rest of our bodies angled away from each other. "That was intense," I said, heaving. Emma laughed. "It's great to be back out there. It felt so good to jog again," she admitted. I smiled. "I'm glad you got your cast off," I said, truthfully. She nodded, smiling back. "Yeah, I am too." I sat up, pulling Emma on to my chest and petting her hair. She smiled, closing her eyes to the soothing touch of my hands. I looked at the clock; it was around 8 o'clock at night. Out of nowhere, Emma started to snore a bit. Of course, she'd fallen asleep. So, I decided to fall asleep with her. With Emma asleep on my chest, and my head resting on a pillow, I fell asleep. At around 1:30 in the morning, I woke up to the sound of three loud buzzes, and Laurynn greeting someone on a phone. "Hello?" she said. I looked around the room, seeing that the fan was already on a low hum. Emma must've shifted herself off of me during the night, because she was next to me instead of on me. "You want me to come…now?" I heard again. I widened my eyes, having a feeling that Laurynn would be leaving again. Another low hum came from Laurynn and Vic's room, so I knew Vic was already asleep. Laurynn sighed, hitting the comforter and shuffling out of the bed. "Yeah, I'll be there in fifteen minutes," she said, walking out of her bedroom and into the bathroom that was closest to their room. She hung the phone up, putting it on the bathroom counter. I shuffled out of my bed, quietly walking towards the bathroom Laurynn was in. She was applying makeup on to her eyes. I watched her get ready for wherever she was going, staring into Vic and Laurynn's room the whole time. She rimmed her eyes thickly with eyeliner, brushing on mascara and a white eye shadow. Her eyes became bigger, out of nowhere. I never understood makeup, since I was a boy. Laurynn went into her room, looking through her closet which held multiple outfits and shoes. She had a lot of clothes for her. And it was amazing that she needed more. She grabbed a red and white striped shirt that showed her tummy, and short beige shorts. She grabbed a pair of heels and balanced herself against the threshold, while putting on each shoe. She clutched her perfume, spraying herself and shaking around. She then grabbed a couple pieces of jewelry and put them on. Once she was ready to leave, she looked like she did when she'd walked into the house two days ago; a s**t. She looked over at Vic, I couldn't see her expression, but it looked like regret. She sighed, walking towards the end table and grabbing the keys, rattling them a bit. And once she started to walk down the stairs carefully, I came out of the shadows from my room. She looked at me, widening her eyes and jumping in surprise. I looked at her, shaking my head. "Where are you going, Laurynn?" I asked, staring at her. She looked at me back, closing her eyes slowly and softening her eyes. She bat her eyes as she talked. "Well, I was going to go hangout with a couple of friends," she said slowly. I shook my head as she sighed. "No you aren't," I said. She looked at me and shook her head back. "Yeah I am, you aren't my dad or mom," she spat. I sighed. "Laurynn, Aaron texted me. He told me what you did two days ago," I whispered as I looked around myself. "Did you talk to Vic about your past?" She shook her head, widening her eyes and putting her hand over my mouth. "No, and I don't plan on it," she said. I furrowed my eyebrows. "Then what were you two talking about last night?" I asked, lowering my voice even more as Vic and Emma stirred around in the sheets. "We were talking about personal things, nothing about my past, I would never tell him that," she said. I smirked to myself, knowing her weak spot. "Then, if you leave and need a ride home at dawn and if Vic asks what's gotten into you, I'm telling him. And don't think you can stop me, because just like you're leaving right now, I can tell him once you leave," I said, smirking. She shook her head, rolling her eyes and walking down the stairs. "And whose he going to believe, you or me?" she asked, walking towards the front door and opening it, revealing a cold and dark night. I shook my head. "Good luck," I said before she shut the door, walking back to her bad habits. I didn't follow Laurynn to the club, because I felt like I didn't need to. When I woke up, though, it was about 5:47 in the morning, and Emma was still asleep. I rubbed my eyes groggily, sliding out of the bed and shuffling downstairs. I decided to start breakfast for Vic and Emma, thinking that Laurynn had snuck in last night. I heard a phone ring, echoing through the house and the sound of Vic groaning. He greeted the person on the other line, sighing and yawning. "Laurynn?" he asked, walking down the stairs and into the kitchen, looking up at me. "Yeah, I'll come pick you up, but when I do, we need to talk." He furrowed his eyebrows, confused at what Laurynn was saying. I peeled pieces of bacon off of each other, putting them down on a pan and listening to the grease sizzling. "What would Jake have said to me?" he asked. "Never mind that, I'll just be there in about twenty minutes," he said, hanging the phone up and sighing. "Was that Laurynn?" I asked, still peeling pieces of bacon and staring at the pan. "Yeah, wanting me to come pick her up again at another bar," he said, regretful. "I'm going to have to start putting a leash on her." I nodded, turning around and staring blankly at Vic. He looked up at me, furrowing his eyebrows. "Do you have something to tell me?" he asked. I sighed, looking at the floor. "Jake? Do you?" I grabbed the chair next to him, sitting down in it and looking at him. "Yeah, there is something," I said. Vic widened his eyes, looking at me and sitting back in his chair. "What is it?" he asked.
