"What does this make us?" Jake slurred into my neck as his lips touched my neck again. "I mean… are we going to date, or what?" I nodded, turning to face him. "Yes, let's try it." I said, smiling to Jake and planting another kiss on his lips. "And hopefully tomorrow I'll get this cast off, and I can sneak up on you every once and a while." He smiled back, moving my bangs from in front of my face. I listened intently on the sound of his heartbeat, as we had laid down a few minutes later and I was laying on top of him, on his chest. His deep breathing was even and his snores were at random. I smiled and looked up at his sleeping form. His eyes were closed but I still remembered the deep brown of them. I sighed, attempting to wriggle my way out of Jake's arms, but I kicked him with my cast and he jolted up. My eyes widened, as I looked at his face full of pain. "Sorry!" I said, covering his mouth so he wouldn't yell or shout. "I was trying to move." His eyes softened, and from in between my fingers I heard him say, "It's fine, you didn't do it on purpose." I uncovered his mouth and went straight for his ploofy hair. I know, it's just teased, but man it was gravity defying. I ran my fingers through his hair for a good 20 minutes. He looked over at the clock, and then turned back to me and grabbed my hands. "Jeez, 20 minutes isn't enough for you?" He said, pulling me back into his chest. I smirked, "Nope." I said wrapping my arms loosely around his neck. I heard someone come down the stairs and scrambled to the other end of the couch, as Laurynn walked in. I waved, acting like I was a preppy girl seeing someone they don't like. But honestly, I liked Laurynn. Jake smiled. "Hey cousin." He said to her as she sat down and flipped me off. "What's new?" He said, looking in my direction for a second. "Nothing." She snapped, grabbing pawing at her hair. "What's new with you?" Jake smiled, "Oh, nothing, except…" He said, stealing another glance at me. "You just flipped off my girlfriend." Then Laurynn's mouth fell open. - I was sitting on the couch, curled up in a ball with a book in my hands. My newly healed leg was free of the cast, and I was just starting to relax and settled with the book, when a loud BANG came from the kitchen. I jumped up to investigate and when I walked into the room, it was just Jake, he had fallen down again. "Keep doing that and You'll break your face." I said from leaning against the doorway. He stood up, and walked over to me, wrapping his arms around my waist. "Sorry…" He said, playfully pecking at my neck. I laughed, taking the pot that was on his head off and smiling. "I don't think this hard-hat is going to work…" I purred into his ear as I set the pot on the table. Jake laughed, going into the living room and sitting down, picking up my book from the floor. "What is this?" He said, waving it back and forth. "Jake! Careful!" I said, snatching it out of his hands. "You'll rip it and make me loose my page!" I said, sitting down next to him and leaning against his side starting to read. He looked down over my shoulder. I noticed cause his hair was brushing my shoulders. "Can I help you?" I said, marking my page and closing the book, and then looking up at him. "I wondered what it was-" Jake was interrupted by the sound of the door opening and then closing, and Laurynn and Vic walked into the room. "Hellur." I said to them, crossing my legs on the couch. "Hi there!" Vic said, hugging me. "Oh my god! You got your cast off!" He said, pointing to my legs. "That I did." I said, kicking my feet. "And I was going to go for a run." I said, standing up and setting the book down on the empty end table. "Well then you go!" Vic said, then he turned to Jake. "You should go with her, give her some company." I smiled as Jake thought about it, then stood up and took my hand. "Okay… I think I will." Things seem to be really easily effected when it came to this man and me. © 2012 Laurynn Fuentes c:Author's Note
