Captured

Captured

A Poem by Laurierose
"

Something new.

"

Heaven has only captured pieces of us.

Those fragments of light that danced through the window foretold of a love so pure. Give this a chance.

Lead the worry away so we can be another day. I hope there’s a way to live without a spare key.

Give you the room where  your only access of love was through me… take this tour this waltz through each room and it is where my heart is housed. The basis of all creation began with one beat.

We synchronized our breaths at night, my love, and managed to see beyond our depths could comprehend.

Sweet sweat lingered in the night air that was as thick as musk, only a product of what we created that night.

You came equipped. Tools in tow as you gave your estimate of damage where I was too frail to understand it.

You patched up pieces, taken and amended rules that were in need of breaking. Hurt though, I was, I needed it to finally feel. Relapse on a hurt that I made so real. Invested in property that did not do much but depreciate into the negative. You came equipped to bury ego and pride so in me you confide all your hurts and trusted the likes of I to cradle those pains to show you what real love is for. I see it. Let me have it. Let me have you.

Like math it’s like one plus two as simple as what’s true because, mathematically, these eyes pair well with the likes of U.

Too short so I stand tall but if one day I befall to the whims of the weak then your words I shall chant as I delve, so deep, and even mumble in my stupor of a lover’s sleep…captured. Memories, like those heavenly pieces, are scattered and it doesn’t even matter because all lost souls find their way to each other some day.

Creep past midnight so we can enjoy the twilight of the songs you sang to me about how our souls danced in moonlight.

The above lines. So good, could stand alone. The chant of yesterday make us know. We had lived and we had learn. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.
