Whims of Moonlight

Whims of Moonlight

A Poem by Laurierose
"

Do you miss me, too?

"
Eyes misted once I read
I closed them and shook my head
Breathed in my resolve, and stared hard
Instead
Sheets have dropped in temperature
Hands have caressed the firm lines
In bed
This roof of dreams once reflected night
Of stars that captured the whims of moonlight
Future uncertain yet presently clear;
Even a love, so tight, could be bound
By fear

I do agree.
"Even a love, so tight, could be bound
By fear"
Fear can make sweetness turn sour. Very nice flow of words led reader to a honest ending. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

Mystical...I like that :) Thank you for the sincere review, my friend.
tender and gently flowing my dear friend, sometimes we face uncertainties even through the greatest Love, all the negative feelings their source is fear, sometime it's even our fear of losing that loved one what lead us into this kind of situation, but surely we can beat it with our faith.

not a problem...
I kinda love the way this moonlight pondering feels a little scrambled, which is a realistic depiction of how our minds can wander as we sit in the luminescent darkness. It feels like this narrator can't decide whether to go forward or hold back. I love the way you offer glimpses such as "sheets have dropped in temperature" to suggest "cold feet" or "abandonment" . . . it all feels kinda "iffy" . . . what will be the whimsical outcome of these moonbeam reflections? You've definitely captured the whimsicality of this piece! Thanks for the kind words :)
Sooo poignantly beautiful, Laurie 🍂
My eyes misted-over, too, by the soft tinges of sensual sweetness, blended into sadness, and just a pinch of regret thrown in to make this wondrously rendered piece come alive with emotion and the depths of feeling.
Your ease of flow, the "unique to You" ways you express the essence of your meanings, and spot-on, unmeasured rhyme-scheme works brilliantly.
Love is like this isn't it, Laurie(?) … an anomaly of both uncertain and clear, even good love, when it's sadly, tightly "bound by fear".

You've deeply touched the softness of my heart … thank you! ⁓ Richard 🍃

Words deftly put and oh so true to emotions felt. Bt seems regret holds partly tarnished thoughts here.. a sad reflection of a past fact or perhaps, fiction.

The moon does hold a certain amount of magic, doesn’t it? Thank you for the sincere comment.
