And when that moment happens
I will know it for sure
I will finally stretch out these wings
That were so afraid to soar
It’ll move throughout my body
And tickle my veins
Make me smile
Feeling no shame
When that moment happens
It’ll be monumental
My time to shine
My moment for life
I’ll write a sonnet
Or perhaps a ballad
And with each of those lines
It will poetically tell that story
The one I was too afraid to utter
Too afraid to think of
That gave my stomach a flutter
It will come as a rush
My face will blush
That perfect painting
Or that perfect song
That invites the crowd to sing along
At the edge of your seat
A heart once shy
Will skip a beat
Toes curling
Head whirling
Vision swirling
And then it stops
Awaiting in the midst your passion
So be brave and leap
When that moment happens
I really enjoyed this. It flowed perfectly, and the pace seemed to quicken towards the end before hitting the word 'stop' and bringing the pace back down a notch. I am a huge fan of repetition within poetry to convey a message and you've nailed it here. Brilliant.

I'm glad you caught the tempo change here and that you enjoyed reading. I appreciate it. Thank you!
When that moment happens, we have to at least be open to the possibilities. That’s why it’s good practice to believe in something whimsical in between times, so we can stay in good practice for pouncing on a likely opportunity. Your poem shows how that can be done using a dynamic mix of wordplay (“gave my stomach a flutter” . . . “toes curling, head whirling, vision swirling”) . . . we can’t mope around & wonder why some jolt of interest hasn’t been attracted into our lives. We have to pull ourselves up by our bootstraps, despite loneliness or depression or anxiety, etc. Fake it until we make it. That’s what your poem reminds me of, which was my mantra several decades ago. Your poem is very inspirational as far as encouraging us to be open and not try to overly restrict or define what we wish to fly by & into our lives (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
Amazing- in the height and depth of passion- in that moment all time stands still- best moment in time- 🌹
