Name MeA Story by Lauren FisherNames.
Names.
How beautiful they are; how broken they are. As a baby, it's seen as a gift, but now, it feels like a burden. I am no longer free. I take one step in the wrong direction, "Lauren." I touch one wrong thing, "Lauren." I make one wrong thing, "Lauren." It is a label, not one I chose. Not one that represents me; not anymore. All my mistakes have clung to this word, six simple letters arranged to be artfully spoken. I'm over that. I want to be free. So, Rename me. Name me Beautiful, Name me Smart, Name me New, Name me Broken, Name me Confused, Name me Alive. I want to go to France, Italy, and Venice. I want to go no strings attached. I want to go free, nothing holding me back; even if it is a name. I want change. So take me, take me where the wind blows south and wipes all of us clean of our mistakes. Take me where peace is the only underlying factor. Take me where nobody knows my past, and nobody will guess my future and try to dictate how I pursue it. Take me where I can be nameless, called only by the name one gives me at that moment. Let me be Naive, Let me be Annoying, Let me be Young, Dumb and Restless. Let me be That Girl Over There, The One With The Dark Hair, Let me be anything but, let me be erased from this remembrance that has all of my mistakes engraved on its edges. Just let me be~ -Nerual
