Sinkhole

Sinkhole

A Poem by Laurenm

I died twice before I was dead,
once in my heart the other my head.
And when one broke the other became numb
-trade them all in for the final sum.

I swear you won't live to regret,
the final thought in your mind is set.
Dying while your shell is still alive
Set in stone is a death you now contrive.

Inevitable the concept never seeming so true
When you're done the rest should follow too.
The end never looking so vivid and near,
now your insides are the only thing you must fear.

Bleak, broken, betrayed and burst,
Your thoughts surrounding, slowly submersed
into the shattered pieces filling your soul.
Blood now gushing; you subside to our final sinkhole.
