Lessons of Love

Lessons of Love

A Poem by Laurena

I held you near, unto my breast

I didn't realize you felt oppressed

I kept you close, as close can be

And wondered why you did not, to me

Longing grew, attachment too

I grabbed on hard and you soon flew

I became confused at why you’d run

When loving you was all I had done

Then, you came, with tender touch

Giving the love I’ve longed for so much

When I let go, your heart returned

Now here I am, a lesson learned

Bravo! True feelings are easy to write about but hard to capture, you have weaved with words the yen/yang, the dark/light side of a true life event that happens to someone somewhere every day. People can relate to this, nicely done.
