A Cup Of Tea

A Cup Of Tea

A Poem by LaurenEbanks
"

A poem about the death of my grandfather.

"

I can’t remember how much sugar
you had in your tea. I don’t
remember how much milk. Teabag
in or out. But I remember your
smile; your eyes that possessed more
wisdom and love than I can
comprehend. I remember the love
and I remember the heartbreak.
I remember the walking sticks and
the hats. The accent, the soap
operas, the smells, the cardigans.
The tongue twisters. Certificate.
I remember a man everyone loved.
