Amnesia

Amnesia

A Poem by Laura

And I forget
that I don’t matter to you any more

There are no messages on my phone no emails in my inbox
nothing to surround me except the sounds that echoes off the empty chambers of my heart

There’s no valentines day
no birthday treats
Santa does not spoil me
I unwrap solitude and get gifted loneliness
They look pretty
with their shiny paper
and sparkling bows

Deceptive
just as you were.
