Hope and Wish

Hope and Wish

A Poem by Laura Storm
"

This is another one I wrote for class. It a Haibun poem I belive. Don't quote me though.

"
Another fight. Voices raised high above the volume of my music, glass shattering along with years of love. I sit there and cry, wondering if this will be the last fight. Hoping that something will make the screaming stop. Wishing they would stay there, in their room, leaving me to my peace. Of course I know what they say about wishing and as soon as the front door slams shut, heavy angry footsteps pound towards my room. I cringe in the darkness and hold my breath. Hoping beyond hope that I could become small enough to go unnoticed.

You know what they say.
Wishing is for the hopeless,
Hope for the naive.
