Fallen Angel

Fallen Angel

A Poem by Laura Storm

Standing over them, watching them run,
I can't help but let my emotions go numb.
The pain they feel and the lies they live
push them into a world of hurt then forgive.
They keep their eyes to the ground
and never break pace or make a sound.
Falling through life, hoping for a break
and when its offered they can not partake.
To rest for a moment means they are weak,
their tiring plight makes me want to weep.
Tears for lost and tears for the damned,
tears for the innocence lost in the lamb.
Tears for the healthy and tears for the dead,
tears for the ones who just wish to rest their head.
And all in the name of the one the call god,
they follow the rules, they follow their laws.
They bow to the rulers and push down the lost
and stomp all those who payed the high cost.
For those are the wakened, shaking and stunned,
that realized the lie and have lost the sun.
In the shadows they hide, biding their time,
until they rise and free all mankind.

Very interesting Laura:) I love the fact that you can actually feel the suffering of the people in your words, even though the fallen angel has gone numb to them in order not to feel it. Great work!!
