Lamb of Gods

Lamb of Gods

A Poem by Laura Sui

Look at us,

As we are.

The lamb of the Gods.

Tarnished and worn.

Scratched and dented.

We are left with nothing to rejoice.

No justice.

No laughter.

No song.

No love.

When we are as we have been,

What is there to choose from?

We are the children bearing nothing.

We are left,

Hopeless,

Useless,

Naked,

Stripped of everything we once had.

Gold and jewels,

Comfort and fruit.

Music and dance,

Joy and love.

What is there to do now,

when we are weak and broken.

We can only walk the winding road

Until we find another kingdom.

Then we may rest our weary minds

And dream of the life we once had.

The life we lost.
