Wouldn't it be Great

Wouldn't it be Great

A Poem by Laura Harrison

Wouldn’t it be great

If all pain was noticeable

So that everyone could see

Exactly what you were going through

You wouldn’t have to lie

And say “I’m okay”

Because everyone would be able to tell

That you weren’t having a good day

And wouldn’t it be amazing

If everyone was understanding

And you knew that it would be alright

If you wanted to speak to someone

About what was going on in your life.

But it would be perfect

If people didn’t judge

If we could all live our own lives

And have that be enough

Because at the end of the day

We all process pain

In the exact same way

No matter how big or small

Even if it doesn’t seem

Like a great big deal at all

Nobody has the right to point out

That somebody else has it worse

Nobody has the right

To make you feel guilty for being hurt.

I like the privacy of suffering alone.

Most folks don't care. Better to fix your own problems than tell the world. A very good poem. You made the reader think. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Maybe there's a bigger, better reason why life isn't like that. Maybe our personal pain isn't for everyone to see, but only for those who care enough to let it be known to them :)
