What Happens NowA Poem by Laura HarrisonA couple of weeks ago, my fiance and I had a massive argument and almost broke up, like most couples do, but we worked through it like we always do and so I wrote a poem about it, like I always doWe met, we fell in love I used to think that was enough but I realised that I can’t live off just your kiss I want more out of life than this I forgave you countless times, gave you time to change now I’m starting to believe that you think this is just a game but you only get so many lives before it’s game over and now I know that our relationship will not last forever I talked, you didn’t listen same as usual when will you understand that we can’t just carry on like normal? I threw my ring across the room and stormed out the door and I didn’t come crawling back like all those times before you didn’t run after me haven’t texted or called and now I’m starting to wonder if I mean anything to you at all I laid my cards on the table now the ball is in your court show me the part of you that I stayed so long for this is serious stuff, not some petty row we both need to decide, once and for all what happens now. © 2015 Laura Harrison |
