True Love

True Love

A Poem by Laura Harrison

“You are so beautiful,” you tell me

after gazing into my eyes for what feels like an eternity

and I don’t think I’ve ever told you this

but you’re the first person to ever say those words to me

which makes me think

this may be true love.

Tears are falling on your shirt

as I cry into your chest

but it isn’t making you uncomfortable like everyone else

because you rub the small of my back

and promise me that it’s going to be okay

which makes me think

this may be true love.

Things are getting serious now

you begin to open up to me like a book

you tell me  that you’ve never had much luck

but when you met me

it felt like you had won the lottery

which makes me think

this may be true love

but even if it turns out not to be

it’s still enough for me.

This feel like real to me. Feel like winning the lottery. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.
