As I Listen To You Breathe

As I Listen To You Breathe

A Poem by Laura Harrison

I wake in the middle of the night
and look over to you sleeping beside me
looking so beautiful in the pale moonlight
you look so peaceful as you breathe quietly
lost in your own world
far away from the monsters that used to haunt you daily.
As I listen to you breathe
I recall all the battles that we won
all the enemies that we defeated
and I think about how lucky I am
to have you lying right next to me.
As I watch your chest rise and fall
I think about how glad I am
that you're breathing at all
cause you've had some demons
and you've got some scars
thank God you didn't let them tear you apart.

Strong and wonderful poetry my friend.

The above lines told real and powerful story. Good to be part of a life where two people learn together. Life can be okay. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

A beautiful heart felt romantic and loving poem, with a lot of truth and pain in it, and healing.
