Happier Now

Happier Now

A Poem by Laura Harrison

I remember the day you told me
That you no longer wanted to know me
It felt like the sun had disappeared from the sky
And I recall lying in bed that night
With tears on my pillow
And a thousand questions on my mind
I thought I was alone then
Because you were always my only friend
My shoulder to cry on when I was feeling blue
I thought that I would never find someone like you
Well,my thoughts were spot on
Because I have someone who is better than you
In more ways than one
Someone who I know will always stay in my life
Because he doesn't have a selfish mind
And I could sit here and cry
And say that you ruined my life
But that is no longer true
Because I'm happier now
So I'm glad that I lost you.

A strong vitriolic write. Perhaps writen in angst as there appears to be an inconsistency:
I thought that I would never find someone like you
Well,my thoughts were spot on
Because I have someone who is better than you
Surely your thoughts were wrong because you HAVE found someone?
