When You Fall In LoveA Poem by Laura HarrisonWhen you fall in love: it should not be forced or rushed like that homework assignment that you started the night before the due date. You should not ignore it or force it to the back of your mind like all of the other feelings that you don’t want to admit to having. You should not hide it behind your bedroom door wishing your heart to be silent so that your parents don’t notice that it’s beating twice as fast as it normally does; you shouldn’t be ashamed and you shouldn’t be scared. Because love is the band-aid that heals all wounds no matter how deep they are. It is that voice in your head saying “everything is going to be okay now” instead of the voice that tells you that nothing is okay. It is a kaleidoscope of all the things that you didn’t think were beautiful before you met this person . It is the rainbow that comes after the storm and that feeling that you get when you realize that there’s good things in this world after all. If you let it love can be everything that you never even knew you needed. © 2014 Laura HarrisonReviews
