Let Me In

Let Me In

A Poem by Laura Harrison

I can see the pain

behind your eyes

I can tell that you haven’t

had an easy life

your skin is covered

in faded marks

the sign of a

damaged and troubled past.

I want to tell you

that I know how you feel

I too have scars

that will never heal

I want to tell you

that it’s okay

but every time I try

you push me away.

Let me in

there’s no need to worry

everyone has secrets

everyone has a story

let me in

so that I can

protect you from harm

tell you that I love you

and wrap you in my arms.

The wise and compassionate words of a true friend by the sound of it. Let me in, there's no need to worry, something that all of us would like to hear from a friend I am sure. And the fact we all have stories too...a human experience.....
Thanks for sharing this positive, caring write....:)

You are so right, we all have our differences but we are all the same in that we all have emotional scars from a chaotic world. We need to bond from our common grounds and let our differences balance each other out.
