Just Add Me to The List of 'Depressed Poets'A Poem by Laura HarrisonWhen I was younger and still had hold of my innocence I could never understand why poems were so poignant and why every poet was so sad to me life was still only filled with rainbows and butterflies everything to me was just black and white But now, as I sit here at my writing desk at 4:00am with tears in my eyes and a page inked with sorrow and heart-breaking goodbyes I can finally understand the sad poems because there were plenty of times when life became The Grim Reaper begging me to die and the only way to feel alive again was to pick up a pen and let my troubles leap from my mind and onto the page. © 2014 Laura HarrisonReviews
