You Live In Me

You Live In Me

A Poem by Laura Harrison

You occupy my thoughts

my poems

my body

you are the thing

that fills the silence

when I’m sad

you are the light

creeping in through the dark

and the dream

that finds me in middle of the night

you are the shelter

that protects me from the storm

and the one thing that’s right

when everything else is wrong

you are my weakness

yet my greatest ever strength

and you show me Heaven

when I’m stuck in hell

yours is the smile

that causes mine to appear

you are everything

that I hold dear

you are my resident

you reside in my heart

and no amount of surgeons

would be able to tear us apart.

I absolutely love this poem! Makes me smile because I have found the person who lives in me. So very sweet this piece is Miss Laura. Another great composition of yours!

I love this. I would suggest possibly reversing greatest ever strength to greatest strength ever, it seems to flow better with the lines that follow.
