Identity Crisis

Identity Crisis

A Poem by Laura Harrison

I had an identity crisis the other day

did something that was not like me

you were kissing my mouth

and it must have got to my head

because I suddenly broke away from you

and smiled.

It came as quite a shock to me

it’s been quite a while since I felt happy

I’m gonna blame it on the atmosphere

but I must admit that it felt okay

maybe I’ll let you kiss me again another day.

Love is a mysterious and magical thing that sneaks up on you when you least expect it. And that can cause a bittersweet confusion in the heart. Especially when you have been jaded before.

Simple, concise and delightful. What more can I say?
