Our SongA Poem by Laura HarrisonI wonder if
you think of me when you listen to our song or if you
remember all those times you sang it to me on all of
those road trips that we took in your car- your voice
as sticky-sweet as honey but
evidently not sticky enough to glue
together the cracks in our relationship.
There are many
times that I lie awake at night with that
song on repeat and tears forming in my eyes they say
that a picture says a thousand words but I think
that a song holds a thousand memories and as much
as it pains me to remember them I have to press play to remind me that my life was perfect once upon a time even if
things didn’t end happily ever after.
I wonder if you
think of me when you listen to our song or if you
even still listen to it at all. © 2014 Laura HarrisonReviews
