A Kiss For CourageA Poem by Laura HarrisonIt was the
beginning of April And as cold
as ice I told
myself that I only cuddled up to you To stop me
from getting frostbite But you put
your arm around me And you
smelled really nice And I went
home with a smile on my face That night From that
day on I saw you
everywhere I went And I can’t
think of any other moments That were
well worth spent You made it
clear that you liked me And I didn’t
know what to say Because the
only other guy who had said that Had said it
for a dare Then ran
away But you were
persistent No matter
how many times I ignored you So
eventually I admitted
that I like you too But you must
have seen the scared look in my eyes Because you
asked me if I was alright I told you
all about my insecurities And lack of
relationships Then you
leaned in For our very
first kiss It was
magical and perfect Everything
that I could have hoped for Definitely
not something Worth
getting scared for Now we just
celebrated Our 2-year
anniversary And I’m so
glad That I
gathered up the courage To tell you
what was worrying me © 2014 Laura HarrisonReviews
