My Greatest Gift

My Greatest Gift

A Poem by Laura Harrison

You came into my life,

and like a present awaiting me on Christmas day,

I peeled off your wrapping;

I delved deep into your mind

to find the greatest gift that had ever been mine

You were the last thing that I expected,

but I’m glad that you belong to me

because I’ve never had anybody who I adore

who loves me even more

And you have your flaws like any other

But I would never return you for being broke

because imperfections make you real

and that’s the way love is supposed to feel

No truer words than below.
"because imperfections make you real
and that’s the way love is supposed to feel"
When we accept the weaknesses. We know true love. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

Short but beautiful, you composed your words so thoughtfully I could connect with this piece. A love that loves you back greater than you could imagine. Simple and sweet, great work miss Laura! :)
