You May Have Walked Out Of My Life, But You Didn’t Walk Out Of My MindA Poem by Laura HarrisonGrains of sand slip through my fingertips; just like you did all those years ago- gradually, you disappeared from my life, leaving me with bittersweet memories and the taste of your final kiss on my lips. Yet I still wait for you; as if I have just lost you in the supermarket and I will find you in the ‘Produce’ aisle selecting apples. I’m holding on to the tiniest chance that you could ever return to me and I don’t want to admit that that chance is turning into zero. We will always be together inside my heart and mind; I don’t think I ever will discover: the art of letting go. © 2014 Laura Harrison |
