I Went OutsideA Poem by Laura HarrisonI went outside Watched the trees gently swaying in the summer breeze As if dancing to a song I could not hear Allowed the sun to shine down on me And bless me with its radiance The birds were starting the day with their cheerful chirrup And I gladly hummed along I bade good day to the citizens of the world Exchanged smiles and a “how do you do?” Took a sniff of the pretty daisies lying in the flower bed And admired the spectacular colours in the sky above my head I wondered why I ever once despised this planet Because I went outside And fell in love with the world © 2014 Laura Harrison |
