Bath WaterA Poem by Laura HarrisonI lay here in this bath-tub And stare at the water Stained with dirt from a hard day’s work But the poet in me Says that it’s the dirt from inside me The dirt of my sins It reminds me of that scene from The Green Mile The one where John Coffey coughs up flies Releasing the evil inside of him I think that the evil inside of me is lurking in this bath water Because when I catch my reflection I no longer hate what I see © 2013 Laura Harrison |
