As A WomanA Poem by Laura HarrisonAs a woman, I was born with the word ‘sorry’ spilling out of my mouth; Sorry for not being everyone’s definition of perfect, Sorry that no man finds me suitably f**k-able. As a woman, I was made to be seen but not heard I was told that men have every right to stare at me as if I am a deer and they are the hunter But God forbid me if I call them out on their actions. As a woman, I was taught that I am a weak and feeble creature; An emotional wreck that will never have the power to rule like men do.
But as a human-being, I refuse to be used as a puppet; I am not going to apologize for living my life the way I choose to And my body is there for storing vital organs; and all the men that have ever looked at me like I'm a fresh piece of meat aren’t one of them. As a human being, my empire is growing by the second. © 2013 Laura HarrisonReviews
